  1. Easy. The controversial issues in education? Try SEX education.
  2. -school uniforms -home schooling -violence in schools

  4. Religion can be.
  5. How about this one....Creation versus Evolution?
  6. Evolution vs. creationism, and sex ed
  7. teaching religion in school, saying the words "under god" while saying the pledge in school, or sex ed are some issues
  8. darwinism vs creationism.
  9. Well, I don't think that sex education is that controversial. I believe it's necessary. However, I think some of the issues are whether to have co-ed education or boys-only or girls-only schools, whether should students be grouped according to their levels or not, whether tuition costs are worth the expectations, or how far does the parental function of schools should go, etc...
  10. teaching Creationism along with Evolutionism. Family Life hah teachers pay? i'm not really sure how controversial that one is
  11. There are many issues regarding education: No Child Left Behind Act, Abbott Districts, home schooling, uniforms, block scheduling, religion, how much responsibility does the teacher have and vice versa with the parents. gender separation, student curriculum, there's the issue of extra curricular activities being cut down because of budgets decreasing, some parents think there are too many electives in high schools, students not caring as much about their education, drugs, violence..... there are many education issues that I know about... I don't know them all, but I know some.
  12. Standardized testing. Some people think it's ruining our children, because teachers only have time to teach what's on the darn test. Other people think the tests are necessary to determine how students are doing.
  13. In my elementary building, a big issue is pulling students out for services as opposed to pushing in to provide services. It is very controversial as to which method provides the most effective service to the student. On the one hand, pulling out gives the student a quiet place (usually) so they can focus on strategies that will help them with their specific needs (speech, ESL, reading, math, physical therapy, etc.) On the other hand, all the pulling out gives them a fragmented day of instruction with little time in their seats with the classroom teacher. Some schools implement more pushing in where the specialist comes in and sits beside the student and helps them with strategies in the activity the whole class is doing so they don't miss out. It's difficult to say which is better but I think that alot has to do with the amount of staff that are available to provide services. If staffing is low, then pushing in is virtually impossible on a regular basis.
